Caroline, aka gem.ini, is a French-born, Berlin-raised DJ, vinyl specialist, and teacher with a strong grounding in electronic music. She studied music, cello, and international business in France before moving to Berlin in 2014 and officially launching her DJ career in 2022 with a debut set at the legendary Sisyphos. Since then, she has played in some of Berlin’s key clubs and festivals and has begun performing internationally. An active member of the city’s FLINTA community, she regularly appears at venues that spotlight FLINTA artists, such as STUECK and CSD, and has curated all-FLINTA lineups at Crack Bellmer as part of the VENUS collective. By day, she works as a vinyl cataloguer at Recordsale, constantly discovering new music that feeds back into her sets. At Beatheim, she helps new DJs build confidence, master core DJ skills, and develop an authentic sound.

He studied Audio Design at Deutsche POP Academy in Frankfurt and has played a key role in Germany’s club scene, including 8 years as a resident DJ in Saarbrücken and performances at Berlin’s Sisyphos and Tresor. As Karenz, he’s released music on top Berlin labels like Oura Records, Grab the Groove, and Flash Recordings. At Beatheim, he helps new DJs master both the creative and technical sides of DJing, from sound design to performance and crowd engagement.
Beatheim is located in the German capital, Berlin. A city considered by many as the epicenter of electronic music and underground club culture worldwide. For more information please visit our menu section “Contact“.
At Beatheim, we believe that learning to DJ isn’t just about what happens inside the school booth. That’s why we collaborate with venues and brands that are active players in the electronic scene, providing our students with real-world experiences and advantages.
Every month we host a party at Minimal Bar, one of Berlin’s most iconic venues.
Here, our students have the opportunity to play live and feel part of the scene from day one.
Elevate Berlin is the vinyl shop founded by Cinthie and Meat, key figures in electronic music and owners of labels such as 803 Crystal Grooves, Collective Cuts, and we_r house.
Thanks to this collaboration, our students enjoy:
Howler Audio has revolutionised the way DJs record and broadcast their sets.
Their Howler recorder+streamer device allows you to capture high-quality sessions or stream professionally directly from your phone.
As a Beatheim student, you have an exclusive €20 discount code for the purchase of your own Howler.
The Japanese brand Oyaide Elec., a pioneer in professional audio cables and creators of the Neo Series for DJs and producers, equips all our systems.
This ensures impeccable sound in every class and every performance.
Hailing from Spain, Walkasse leads the way in designing professional flight cases and DJ bags.
Our students can access special discounts on Walkasse products, as well as test different models at the school to find the best fit for their gear.
Our DJ Courses are primarily individual and personalized (1 on 1), but we also offer group classes for up to 4 people.
Our main objective is to provide you with the techniques and skill sets that will enable you to enter the dj world at professional level . We are fully committed , for the entirety of the course , to your educational and creative process. We will open the doors of the music industry to you, through unique spaces such as our music studio, Berlin bar/clubs and our Soundcloud profile where you can share your DJ Sets or Podcasts with everyone. On top of that, if you complete our professional or full level modules, you will have the possibility to perform in one of the most historic clubs/bars in the city and the official diploma from the DJ school.
None. Whether you have never mixed before, are just starting out or have some experience, all of our modules are designed for students of all levels. With us, you will awaken your inner DJ, expand your knowledge and turn your passion into your profession.
Of the two forms, we believe that it is necessary to understand the theory before practicing, especially in those modules that require more technical details. On the other hand, we understand that a lot of theory without any practice can be tiring, that’s why we support theory with practical examples, and we also have 100% practical modules in our packs: Upgrade, Master or Full Pack.
If you are someone who doesn’t like to travel much, now you can learn virtually with our online package composed of modules based on the format of individual and personalised “one-on-one sessions“. Beatheim does not offer recorded classes, as our online sessions are live tutorials.
In order to do the full course online, you will need to have your own DJ equipment or visit our music studio in Berlin for a few days, because some modules are 100% hands-on and require technical equipment to be completed.
If you like the idea of taking the module in your own time and from the comfort of your own home, then we recommend the online module.
If you like the idea of learning with friends or other people with similar tastes, then we suggest the on-site module (maximum 4 people per session).
If, on the contrary, you wish to have a more personal experience, the individual on-site module is your best option.
We do not favor one genre of electronic music over another, as we firmly believe that a good DJ should be open to learning from all types of music without establishing labels that limit their creativity and inspiration. The DJ tips, techniques and concepts covered in our modules can be applied to virtually any genre of electronic music. However, our DJ school does not teach techniques such as scratching or turntablism.
Just your interest and willingness to learn 😉 It never hurts to bring examples of artists and music you like, as this will help us to better understand your tastes and goals.
Our aim is to offer the very best quality and maximum attention for every student , therefore the classes are mainly individual and personalised. Of course we understand that some students prefer to learn in pairs or in groups, and that is why we also offer Group classes for up to 4 people, great for friends who want to learn together !
At Beatheim, all classes are taught by active professional DJs who are present in both the local and international scenes. Our teachers are not only part of Berlin’s nightlife, but also have prior teaching experience, passionately passing on both the technical skills and the culture that surrounds the DJ booth. If you would like to find out more about him, please visit our “Teacher” section.
Of course! Upon successful completion of one of the module’s pack, we write a certificate with the total number of hours and the subjects learned during the course. Certificates are not applicable to independently booked modules.
We currently offer our modules in 3 languages: English, German, Spanish and French. So the theory and the classes can be given in any of these languages.
No problem at all; if there’s one thing that defines us, it’s the flexibility we offer our students when scheduling future classes. After finishing a module (lesson), you can decide on the next appointment with your teacher, choosing the day and time that best suit your needs. This way, there’s no need to plan too far in advance, and any unforeseen changes won’t disrupt your plans.
No, we provide all the necessary equipment for you to start and practice during the lessons. We work with many of the leading brands in the industry and the DJ gear you will use is the same as that found in many professional clubs.
If you have decided to take online modules instead of in-person, we then suggest that you have your own equipment/software to progress faster during the course; however, this is not strictly necessary, as you are always welcome to visit our professional music studio located in Berlin to practice by booking additional practical sessions.
Additionally, we have a fully equipped studio open 24/7 throughout the year, which you can hire by the hour if you need to practice independently or record one of your sets.
We do not sell or rent DJ equipment directly, as we focus primarily on providing an educational service. However, we will give you personal advice if you decide to buy your own equipment.
Once you have completed all the modules of the Full pack or Master pack you must record your DJ set in our studio with the help and supervision of your teacher. After you have reached a sufficient level to perform live, we will arrange the date of your performance in a Bar/club in Berlin. We simply want to see you applying the techniques you have learned during the course and that you feel at home in the booth. Our aim is to guide you towards that end, making you feel comfortable during the process but particularly on this, your big day.
How often you’ll play out (or mix) is in your hands only! In the course, we will teach you what the clubs expect from you as an artist and how to work with them to ensure that you get repeat bookings! Learn the rules of the game and get your residency locked in, simple!
Playing clubs and bars is not the only pleasure that can be derived from obtaining these skills. If you just want to learn how to DJ for fun, our course is still your best option, and you are in no way obliged to play live.
We teach all ages. If you are under 16 years old and one of your parents wants to come, they can attend the class for free.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and PayPal as forms of payment.
You can book any of our classes through individual modules, module packs or discount coupons.
If you would like more information about how to book, please feel free to visit our how-to book section.
Finally, if you are sure that you want to start from scratch and end up DJing at one of our parties, then we recommend you book the full pack now.
